I was silently humming this song by Christopher Cross as we were approaching Santa Fe port. But I guess , the atmosphere did not like what I was singing so Bantayan Island welcomed us with a gloomy afternoon. But I was still hoping that the sun would still appear despite of the jinx i brought with me. But seriously I love the song and it’s my personal favorite. Just so you know. (sarap mag-emo)

 I still prayed that at least somehow the sun will show up .I wanted to see the flare of the sun. Not now! I was complaining of the heat of the sun the other day. But the weather, the gloomy weather made me miss the sun.  Sana katulad ng weather sa  Malapascua.

My excitement has turned into depression. It was really a gloomy afternoon. I felt that I was really getting sick. I could not describe the entire feeling but I felt I was slowly falling apart. I was actually fighting for that gloomy feel . It was really depressing. When you welcome the sensational feeling of being in a wonderful beach then suddenly it rains like nonstop . That is not good.

I feel relieved when the group went ahead and decided to swim at the beach despite of the nasty weather. 

The water was cold , but we did not mind at all. I am allergic to cold water so i was expecting a sign of reaction at that point. Slowly I have gotten a small hive on my body and face and I felt really uncomfortable. So I had to leave them at the beach and stayed down at a small cottage for awhile to dry. I was hoping that tomorrow the weather would be fine.

The next morning the sun showed up. Good morning sunshine!  The sky was really bright. The atmosphere greeted us consistently with a cloudy sky. I love the feeling. Bantayan Island was beautiful indeed. We really had plenty of time to swim at the beach. The sun rose above the clouds finally.

Bantayan island has its incredible picture perfect white sand lined with numerous coconut trees. It is truly one of the World’s Most Beautiful beaches .

Bantayan Island is a paradise located at the northwest tip of Cebu.

This little paradise is entirely free from commercial establishments unlike other islands that are overcrowded and expensive. There are smaller resorts with rooms and cottages here. We stayed at Sugar beach for Php700 for the standard room for two and additional Php100 for extra person.

We stayed at Sugar beach resort overnight .

I must say that the life at the Bantayan Island is very laid back and simple but very peaceful. I really love the simplicity of the island . Locals manage their own farm. They have a simple wooden houses which is very unique for a tourist like me.

It ultimately feels good to see the sun finally.

This is really a memorable trip for all of us.  My prayer was heard. Now we can go for a nice and walk at the beach and properly catch up . Bantayan Island greeted us with a gloomy afternoon the other day so I thought it was the best time for us to maximize our time to photograph everything that we like.

I noticed this great hat by Ivan of BatangLakwatsero so I grabbed my camera and photographed it.  I thought it was a great subject. 

It’s not a lost pair of slippers.

This photo inspired me to carry around my slipper and take a photograph of them at the beach. This pair of slipper whoever owns it, may have been to many places and I would love to  know the story about it. Would you know?

I don’t know exactly what it was but I guess it was a great subject.

Getting to Bantayan Island is very easy. From the Mactan Airport to the  North bus terminal you can ride a taxi and that will cost you approximately Php110 depending on traffic.  Just hop a bus from the Cebu north terminal to Hagnaya Port .You can also hire a van to take you to Hagnaya port. The bus will normally cost you Php150.  Travel time approximately three to four hours. And from the port of Hagnaya , you will take a ferry  or a small vessel that will take you to Santa Fe. The ferry is about Php170 including the Php5 terminal fee. Ferry leaves Hagnaya port every hour. That probably can change depending on the season. Once reached Santa Fe , you can hire trisikad or tricycle that will take you to Sugar beach resort.

Bantayan island is fascinating. I really had a great time. And I will definitely spend time with these beautiful people too. I have fallen in love with this place as well . I realized that I am a little behind with my blog. Thank you for reading and hoping to  see you on the road soon.
