There are so many food to choose from when you visit a new place. I guess most of the filipino people love to eat. Every provinces has its own unique way of life which also highlights the food they prepare for their visitors.

Aside from the accomodation, Most of backpackers outthere would really want to save money . As a budget traveler , it is really important to look at how we can stretch our Pesos and still eat the best food in town.

Overall tip is to focus on local food. =)

People visit Dipolog for so many reasons. Simple life . Very nice people and great food. I simply wanted to visit Lakbay Rizal Sites, until a friend mentioned about indulging myself with their local flavors! In other words MOre na more na kainan ito.

I recently realized that I am one of those foodie enthusiast. I am beginning to think I currently am. A small province has its plenty of cafe and food market.

Just a walking distance from Antonio’s Pension house where I stayed. There’s Makdo, it’s a Dipolog version of Mcdo. It’s not mcdonalds just so you know. Makdo means magduko duko in Cebu which means a person who bends low to choose which order from the dimly lit barbecue grills. When I first saw this place . It reminded me of Larsian in Cebu. 

Enjoy and feed your tummy with a lot of food in a small restaurant along the way . Try the barbecues and dried seafoods .Many of their dried foods caught my attention . They also sell simple (home cooking)lutong bahay which is very delightful. Karekare, adobo, paksiw na baboy and other delicious delicacies.

I love their pizza. Their pies have this real crispness. Walk into Biaños Pizzaderia and ask for the best sellers. I tried the meat lovers pizza . “Ang Sarap”!

I also visited Chicken atiatihan  and ordered their Rice all you can meals. I was really tired after my Dapitan tour so I made sure I was able to replenish all the carbohydrates I lost during the whole day trip.  I liked their Pork Sinugba, Dipolog lechon Kawali and matched with Avocado Shake and Large Iced tea. The Chicken barbeque was delicious.  Sa Chicken atiatihan mapapasayaw ka sa sarap! – Their slogan says ” We didn’t invent chicken barbeque, We perfected it!
