I was looking for an old photograph of myself wearing my favorite ” Follow my Journey” T-shirt but I can’t locate which folder I put it under. How depressing? But what’s even more depressing is when the rain started pouring hard and I realized it’s really the start of rainy season . It’s raining on and off again.
I had a little nice conversation with an old friend over the phone last night. He made a big decision to follow his parents and go to graduate school abroad .
” Congratulations !” That was the last word I said before the line got disconnected. Then I suddenly realized sometimes life is unpredictable . It seems that things just happen without any plans.
Anyhow, I would like to introduce Ian of Brownmantrips.com . He is such a very interesting person. He is funny, smart and sociable . He’s always so cheerful, easy to go along with , very friendly and humble.
BEING A CLUMSY TRAVELER
I am a clumsy traveler. I TRY to make itineraries that never gets written. I lose things on the road. I follow my heart where it tells me to go. I just wander and discover things, I write down where I wanna be and just follow the flow. My itinerary looks something like a wish list in a totally random order. I like hanging out and feeling like a local when I travel. I wander off alleys and streets where tourists wouldn’t go.
ABOUT HIS TRAVEL BLOG
My travel blog was born out of my original personal blog. When I had a life changing event, I decided to chase my dreams and travel more. At that time my travel posts probably has taken around 80% of the articles that I write. After traveling more for a year I decided to give birth to brownmantrips.com, where I share stories about my trips and some tips on the side without my, well lets just say, “personal dramas” hahaha.
FAVORITE TRAVEL BLOGS
Travellingfeet (www.thetravellingfeet.com) I like following her story as she ventures out side of her home country.
The transcendental Tourist (www.ajpoliquit.wordpress.com ), I like the way that he writes about his travels. The way he writes makes me feel as if I was traveling with him. It also teaches me new words because of his prolific writing style.
Another blog that I enjoy reading is The Peculiar Hours (www.peculiarhours.com) the way he writes gives a sense of authenticity and sincerity of how he looks at things be it with traveling or with everyday life.
I would have to also mention Epic Potato (www.epicpotato.com), If you are bored this is a must read as she takes you for a roller coaster ride with your emotions.
ON BEST THING ABOUT BLOGGING
Meeting friends. Some people (and I know a lot of them) thinks that blogging makes you rich. Well look at me now? I am rich! Kidding aside I really don’t earn anything monetary with blogging. The only thing that I earn are the new friends and learning through my experiences on the road.
ON THE WORST THING ABOUT BLOGGING
Backlogs and Vocabulary. There are times when things that I need and want to write piles up and it just overwhelms me a lot. One thing I struggle when it comes to blogging is my lack of words to use. I guess that is why I like reading the blogs that I mentioned earlier because it helps me build my vocabulary. It just irritates me when I can’t find the right words to say. Did I just sound like I was trying to win someone? (Laughing)
ON WHERE HE GETS INSPIRATION FOR HIS BLOG
I get my inspiration from the lessons I learn when I travel. It allows me to discover my self and appreciate more the places and cultures in this world that we live in.
TIPS TO SHARE FOR ASPIRING TRAVEL BLOGGERS
Write what your heart says, Go where your feet takes you.
Now I find myself in front of the screen of my computer feeling depressed, burnt out and disillusioned while drinking lactobacillus shirota (Yakult). I really don’t want to surround myself with the negative vibrations so I am still smiling while creating this post. Sure , I believe you that sometimes ….Sometimes I run … sometimes I run sometimes I hide sometimes I’m scared of you ( Britney Spears suddenly showed up).
Thank you Ian of Brownmantrips.com I wasted so much of your time . *wink
