[CAMARINES SUR] WAKEBOARDING AT CAMSUR WATER SPORTS COMPLEX

CamSur Watersports Complex or popularly known as CWC is a world renowned  Watersports park in Bicol region. Professional boarders, most of them are coming from different countries. I was really impressed with the cable lake which has plenty of room to execute every air or obstacle. The man made island together with the smooth sandy beaches surrounding it was astounding.

The trendy watersports complex is the brainchild of Governor Luis Villafuerte, who happens to be a huge fan of wake-boarding.

Now what is wakeboarding?

Wakeboarding is described as a cross between surfing and snowboarding on water. But of course the lesser injuries if someone falls into the water. Think of it this way, you try to defy the laws of Physics which unbelievably gives the enthusiast a genuine high.

Pulled by an overhead cable suspended 8-12 meters above water surface. The cable travels continuously and the skiers will be hooked up to the cable and runs counterclockwise around the artificial lake which is powered by a variable speed electric motor.

For beginners, the basic equipment is for free. You will also be guided by a certified resident instructors too.

The Water park is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Prices range from Php 170 per hour to Php1000 plus for the whole day and night rate.

The great thing about the sports complex, CWC has its own beach volleyball area, an olympic size swimming pool for those who want to take a break.

Getting to Naga is easy. One must take a flight to Naga City via Air Philippines or Cebu Pacific. Travel time takes approximately an hour. If you are up for a challenge  and a genuine adventure, air-conditioned and ordinary buses are also a good option. This time it could take up to 8-9 hours.
