Katahum kang Antique!
I am supposed to be writing but procrastinating sometimes takes up so much of my time. At any rate, I encourage you folks to stay tuned for my blog posts as I have finally committed to uncovering the story of my Antiqueno roots. I also hope you will have a chance to check out the “Experience Antique” video below which was recorded three weeks ago by Dayaw Multimedia. I’ve taken a small part [just a short exposure] in the video and I can honestly say that the video presentation is incredibly inspirational and empowering.
I have a song stuck in my head.
Kalangoy kaw run bala sa Malumpati it Pandan?
Nakaphurum-hurum sa hot spring kang Sira-an
Nakarigos kaw bala sa Villa Valderrama
Kayaking sa Tibiao kag diving sa Barbaza
Nakakita kaw bala kang bulak nga Rafflesia
Dulungan nga pispis, gemstone sa mga suba
Kasaka sa Ginubatan kag bukid kang Madia-as
Timpasaw sa Igpasungaw, kalibot sa Nogas
Muscuvadong matam-is imo bala natirawan
Kanamit kang isda, Pinindang ana ngaran
Kasuksok kang bayo nga human sa Patadyong
Kabalon kang Bandi pagkatapos magbakasyon
Sa Dao, Punta Hagdan nami nga patawhayan
Sa San Jose ang Piedra kag Mambuyung aradtunan
Sa norte may Magaba, PHAIDON kag Red Hut pa
Mararison sa Culasi, maanyag nga isla
Kon ikaw Antiqueno indi mangin estranghero
Adtunan ang mga manami nga lugar
Sa probinsya mo!!
Kruuhaay! Katahum kang Antique!!!
Experience Antique Province, where the mountains meet the sea – a gorgeous place of scenic beaches, beautiful islands & diving sites, breath-taking mountains, cleanest river & whitewater kayaking, hot and cold springs, abundant rice fields, pristine waterfalls, mountain resorts & nature parks, lively festivals, and smiling & hospitable people. [photo below: An extra-ordinary experience as an accidental Fisher] Lambaklad fishing is just part of the Tibiao Adventures conceptualized and operated by Mr. Flord Nicson Calawag to promote Tibiao’s tourism.
Antique (Pronounced as /ɑːnˈtiːkə/) is a province of the Philippines which can be found in the region of Western Visayas. San Jose is the provincial capital and is located in the western part of Panay Island and borders Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo to the east, while facing the Sulu Sea to the west.
I certainly hope to be back in your arms Antique very soon.
This Antique Familiarization Tour was made possible by the Katahum Tours headed by Flord Nicson Calawag with the support of the Department of Tourism Region VI and the Antique Provincial Tourism Office. Thanks to Elal for my solo picture at Malakagat Hanging Bridge in Tibiao, Antique.
