Im dealing with my outside world lately .

I was able to fix my room . Practically they’re all cleaned up. I have thrown things that have taken a lot of space in my little room.

I decided I would not do anything not even washing the dishes .

I feel so tired knowing I did not do anything the whole week.

Earlier this morning I had a little chat with Kim , a girl -friend, someone I met from ElBi in Laguna last year.  We had a little conversation abouth things, about life and got invited from a special event .

And because I have my own share of responsibilities, I had to say no to that invitation. I had to deal with the outside world. Bummer really!

I am not complaining but right now i feel I am a little pre occupied with so many things. I need to catch  up…  I am compelled to finish some articles.

At any rate , (backlogs)I am going to share an interesting place in the province of Guimaras in the Philippines , Western Visayas region. Guimaras island is located in the eastern part of Panay Island  and was once a sub-province of Iloilo and became an independent province on May 22, 1992. Guimaras is infamous for its Mangoes , which is known to be the sweetest mangoes in the world and one of the main incomes of most families in the province.

To get there , you need to take a 15-20 minute boat ride from the Iloilo City to Jordan. There are two ports in Iloilo that have boats going to the Guimaras Island. One is Buenavista and the other one is Jordan , the provincial capital of Guimaras. The port going to Jordan is situated in Ortiz which is near the SM delgado and Robinson’s place . You can take a cab for your convenience. When you get to Jordan port, you can proceed to the tourism center which is just a few meters away from the drop off point. You can ask for tourism assistance when you get around. There are numerous vans , tricycles who can offer you tour rides.

You can visit the Balaan Bukid which is a famous landmark in Guimaras known for being a pilgrimage and a trekking site that gives tourists views of Guimaras as well as Iloilo City to the north. Its an easy hike from the capital town of Jordan. From Jordan,  you can take a tricycle ride to  Balaan Bukid, where you will start your 30 minute to 45 minute hike to the top.

The whole backpacking trip in Guimaras was practically spent in hiking, walking and trekking so We did not really spend time some social drinking at night .  We were all dead tired at the end of the day.

Another attraction I recommend you to visit is the Guisi Light house which is according to my research is the second oldest light house in the Philippines. It was built during 1800’s . The ruins below is perfect for pictorials . The view is just so spectacular on top of the Guisi Light house..

There are numerous and interesting things to do in Guimaras . I felt sad leaving Guimaras missing the biggest mango plantation which is the Oro Verde . I wish we have unlimited time to explore Guimaras.

The Island really has a great beach resorts . Resorts are all  up for grabs I tell you.  Nagarao Island resort maybe suited for everyone . That’s where we stayed at and  what I liked about it is the individual cottages with toilets and showers facing the beach lined up with trees and flowers . A real paradise like no other. I feel like I own the island.  Check out list of beach resorts in Guimaras here.

Best time to visit Guimaras is during summer and the province’s annual Manggahan sa Guimaras festival which is celebrated every April 16-20 to promote the mango industry.

Guimaras is genuinely a great tourist spot in the Phlippines.  Perhaps I really want to stay a little bit longer to try and explore several caves in the province that did not happen.

And going back to mangoes, I really dont know exactly how you can determine how sweet should be a mango is , but the mangoes in the Guimaras island?  Extraordinary! Ang sarap!
