I recently paid a visit to Dr. Kaycee Reyes‘ skin clinic in Bonifacio Global City after a recommendation from a friend. I had the opportunity to have my skin checked. The treatment was not necessarily my major interest but after reading some information about Dr. Reyes and learned her many appearances on television shows, I was stunned to the fact that this was a renowned woman dominating in the field of medicine.
Through the years, I have visited various skin specialists due to dry skin that persists into my current state of adulthood. Fast forward to today, and I am still searching for doctors who are familiar with the differences that make darker skin tones more sensitive to certain afflictions. That’s where Dr. Reyes came in to the rescue as an expert resource, not only to me, but hopefully to other travelers like me who may have questions about ways on how to better care for their skin.
Dra Kristina “Kaycee” Cuevas Reyes, a Skin and Laser Specialist studied medicine at the University of Sto. Tomas, and completed her Diploma in Dermatology and Master of Science in Clinical Dermatology from King’s College and St. John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s and St. Thomas Hospital respectively, in London. She has also served as a visiting fellow in Dermatologic Laser Surgery at the National Skin Centre in Singapore, as well as in the University of Ramathibodi Hospital – Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. She has been continuously attending international trainings, seminars and other conferences to further widen her knowledge towards treating various skin problems.
After a brief discussion with Dr. Reyes, I knew that her sweet character was not a show. She has this genuine persona that most people look for when finding a doctor of any kind. We sat down and she chatted with me about ways in which anyone can take care of their skin. If you’re a traveler, always bring a hat to cover the face, scarf to cover the neck, sunscreen for general SPF protection and always keep water nearby. If you’re a big food junkie, water is very important for flushing out toxins, limit alcohol due to its dehydrating tendencies and choose colorful foods that are packed with vitamins and minerals and pick healthy fats for cooking such as olive oil and coconut oil, which are also beneficial for lubricating the skin.
Following our quick conversation, I spent about an hour and a half undergoing the Elixir treatment. Admittedly, I’m worried about my wrinkles then I found myself inside a room with a certified therapist. Dr. Kaycee said, Myca is one of the pioneer therapists here, and I’m really grateful I was in good hands. Myca moved a tool around my face and neck in slow, circular motions, sending magnetic waves through my skin and building up light heat on the surface. The particular motion used contours and shapes and the heat and pulses tighten the tissue under the skin that reduces sagging and natural lines. I was told that this process requires more than one treatment for a better results, but after one treatment, I could notice a glow to my skin, specifically around the cheeks.
If you’re scared of injection or surgery, worry no more with Elixir by Luminisce. Using the Botu “VIP” treatment from Ericson Laboratoire, this simple and fast procedure is the preferred wrinkle-relaxing treatment today since it fades wrinkles with the efficacy of 2 effective substances in 1: Fillox which smoothen and fill in deep lines, and SYN-AKE to relieve tension of the muscles. No more wrinkles in a few sessions with this safe, non surgical and risk free procedure from Luminisce.
Walking out of her clinic that day, I found myself thinking about how important it is to take care of our skin. Our skin is the body’s largest organ, and its health can be indicative of the rest of your body and mind’s well being. Of course, outer beauty is subjective, so Dr. Reyes truly pushes a patient’s ability to feel good from within before resorting to other means.
Travelers always talk about being open to new experiences. In the case of my skin, I’m glad I met Luminisce. Invest in your skin and be a certified skinvestor like me.
