My new love affair with Palawan Island has lasted longer than my previous relationships. This relationship can’t be compared to summer fling. From my various trips in Busuanga, Coron, Puerto Princesa and further down to Port Barton, El Nido, there has never been enough time to cover it all, but Lord knows I’ve loved this place and promise myself to keep on coming back and rediscover the entire island of Palawan.
Now we’re back to Puerto Princesa.
The sun was cooking us alive, so with brisk large steps, we headed for our nearest shed. This is gonna be your home for the night, a beautiful receptionist from Skylight Hotel Palawan cheerfully told us and offered us their welcomes drinks.

From the busy streets of Rizal Avenue we knew Skylight Hotel Palawan is going to be our home away from home. Admittedly, Skylight Hotel Palawan is the next best accommodation – it was right smack in the heart of the busy side of Puerto Princesa yet not that noisy. A convenient walk to some of the best cafe, local restaurants, shopping venues and even to the popular Baywalk similar to the seaside promenade overlooking Manila Bay along Roxas Boulevard.
The hotel appearance from the outside was not that striking however when we entered the reception area, the huge space, courteous and friendly reception area changed our entire perception of the hotel.
Our first taste of staycation phenomenon afforded us some much needed privacy. After sharing room with a friend at the second floor it was a such a great idea to check into a room that was all our own. Equipped with a complete list of amenities, guests will absolutely find their stay at the property a comfortable one.
One can enjoy the same kind of service you’d expect from a top of the line hotel. The staff at the Skylight Hotel Palawan were extra-ordinary. To be honest the deluxe room we checked in was larger than I thought.
Other features include Valet parking, room service, car park, laundry service and dry cleaning, Wi-Fi in public areas are on the list of things guests can enjoy. The well-appointed guest rooms feature bathtub, non smoking rooms, satellite and cable TV, refrigerator, free internet access – wireless. Entertain the hotel’s recreational facilities, including massage, garden.
A welcoming atmosphere and excellent guest service are what you can expect during your stay at Skylight Hotel.
There’s an in-house seafood restaurant at the ground floor and living area on site as well as a few hot spots to log on to the internet and check your mail. The bathroom facilities are spacious and kept clean by house-keeping on a daily basis.
Skylight Hotel Palawan’s Fresh Seafoods and Restaurant gets it right with perfectly cooked seafood , amazing flavors, fresh vegetables and a perfect dining experience. Photo above: Chefs busy preparing meals for their special guests.
While everything was really superb, there were quite a few flavors that really stood out for me. Best seafood in town: Must try are the Rock lobsters, crabs, prawns, stone fish and a lot more. You can never really go wrong with it.
Skylight Hotel Palawan offerings were all quite remarkable. From breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything else in between, they never failed to impress us with their dishes.
To say that we had so much fun on our 3 days we stayed at the resort is an understatement. Nightlife, relaxation, good food and new friends; it was a holiday to remember well-spent at Skylight Hotel Palawan.
