TRAVEL BLOGGER: PONDERING PAODAOLEI’S POINTS TO PONDER
Introducing the featured Travel Nuts for the Month of August.
You know sometimes a broken heart can cause an intense reaction that we may feel towards life. So others say that it is a very nice idea to take off traveling in order to heal the wounds. If your heart has been thoroughly squashed, I strongly suggest to hit the road and find yourself. This month of August, I am happy to feature another traveler/blogger I personally know. What constantly amazes me about our featured travel nuts is her passion for exploring things and rediscovering places. If you read her blog, she writes not just for herself but for everyone to follow her adventures and misadventures in life. Her writings moved everyone including myself.
I am excited to tell you this month’s featured travel nuts. Paula Anntoneth O is the Author of Ponderingpaodaolei.net. I am so fortunate to be able to join her in some of her trips in the country. We first met under the heat of the sun during the Postal Heritage Tour. Followed by another trip to Camarines Norte where I got to know a little things about her. Calaguas can attest how adventurous she really is. It followed by another trip which we called Lakbay Bicol which I am about to start very soon. But then, who is Paula Anntoneth O? Paula speaks to me through her blogs. I can seriously imagine her stories filled with different perspective. It could be a whole lot of different things. Broken hearts, love and the joy of traveling and sharing her insight about life in general. Read her blog at Ponderingpaodaolei.net and like her Facebook fan page. So without further ado, here’s the interview.
WHAT KIND OF TRAVELER IS PAULA?
I am quite an adventurous traveller. I like to try doing new things to me.
ABOUT HER TRAVEL BLOG
My travel blog is a repository both of my travels and my personal write-ups. I put my thoughts into words which I really love doing. Aside from documenting my travels, I also would often write poems which I also post in my website.
THREE FAVORITE BLOGS SHE VISITS
I follow many travel blogs now but I will cite the first ones I have followed.
–Nomadic Experiences by Marky Ramone Go.
I admire his impeccable style of writing. He is the first PTB member I have met both in person and online. What I admire most about his blog is the way he describes the soul of his travels with a certain twist of hilarity. He also has great photography skills.
–Ivan Lakwatsero by Ivan Brinas Cultura
This young man quite impressed me since at a young age he exudes intelligence and passion which is very rare to find in his generation. Like him, I am a fan of light houses and history.
–Journeying James by James Betia
Well who wouldn’t know Journeying James.
BEST THING ABOUT TRAVEL BLOGGING
The best thing about blogging is when your posts are appreciated. When you receive praises from unknown readers. Blogging is also a stress-reliever for me. You get to visit your own world once in a while, with thoughts and words as your only companion and your photos as silent witnesses.
WORST THING ABOUT TRAVEL BLOGGING
Worst thing about blogging is when one has a writer’s block.#laughing. If I experience this, I do not go online for a few days. It works for me.
WHERE SHE GETS INSPIRATION
I most certainly get my inspiration from my travels and personal experience. Just read my poems!
TIPS TO SHARE FOR ASPIRING TRAVEL BLOGGERS
My advise to wanna-be bloggers is to be true to themselves. This may sound a cliché but to be successful in the blogging world, you got to write what is truly yours, your ideas, your thoughts. Copying/Imitating someone else’s is a no-no. I would also tell them to be cautious of what they will write about.
For now, I will leave you with some of the good words to ponder. Just keep in mind, “The world is at your feet”. Just continue to inspire, nurture and educate the others. It is always a great surprise to see our spirits rise and meeting new friends on the road. Each month Juanderfulpinoy takes time to introduce a travel blogger and a recognition they deserve. Meanwhile, please take time to read the previous interview with some of the todays Travel Nuts. I am always keen to hear about fresh ideas you can share. Please contact the author and let’s talk over a cup of coffee.
